The Centre of Excellence for Tribology at the University of Mannheim used the two-disc test rig to investigate the friction and wear behaviour of materials and coatings, as well as the properties of lubricants under rolling and rolling-contact loads. Thanks to this state-of-the-art testing method, data (e.g. friction torque) can be recorded continuously in digital form. Furthermore, it is possible to determine mass-based wear by weighing.

REWITEC coating: a before-and-after comparison – SEM images following the long-term test

20 % lower temperature
in gearboxes and bearings*

33 % less friction
in gearboxes and bearings*

50 % less roughness
on metal surfaces*
